An on-going joint emergency services incident at Ty Glas House, Llanishen, Cardiff, has concluded.

The HMRC Building was evacuated this morning following the discovery of a suspicious package.

Following examination by experts from the Royal Logistic Corps bomb disposal team the package was made safe in a controlled environment and investigations have confirmed that the package was harmless.

Superintendent Danny Richards said: “This was a textbook response to a threat of this nature.  The emergency services combined with our partners in the military to deal with a suspicious package which was delivered to the premises this morning.

“All necessary precautions were put into place and the matter has been dealt with successfully.”

The police cordon has now been lifted. No-one has been injured and there have been no arrests.

The public are thanked for their co-operation during this incident
